Japan's Taiyo Vinyl will shut its PVC unit at Yokkaichi for a 25-day turnaround in end-March. The shutdown of the 310,000 tonne/year unit at Mie prefecture in western Japan was previously scheduled in mid-March. The company, a subsidiary of Tosoh Corp, is one of the largest PVC resins producers in Japan. It runs two other PVC units in Osaka and Chiba with capacities of 158,000 tonnes/year and 90,000 tonnes/year respectively.
