Taiwanese MEG maker Oriental Union Chemical Corp (OUCC) will shut down its 250,000 tonne/year plant in May for three weeks. The company is partially owned by the Far Eastern group of companies, one of the world’s largest producers of polyester and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chips, with plants in China and Taiwan.
