Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Co (PIC) has deferred a scheduled turnaround at its polypropylene (PP) plant at Shuaiba by two weeks to early March. The 120,000 tonne/year plant was earlier expected to begin the three-week maintenance shutdown in mid-February. The reason for the slight delay is the postponement of a shutdown at the FCC (fluid catalytic cracker) unit which provides propylene feedstock to PIC.
