Shen Hua Chemicals may extend the planned shutdown of its 170,000 tonne/year SBR plant in Nantong, China next month if costs of feedstock BD continued to soar. “Our original plan is to shut down the SBR plant for two weeks in October.But if the feedstock BD price continues to rise above $1,700/tonne (€1,173/tonne), we may prolong our shutdown period to three weeks or one month,”the source said.
