China-based Zhenjiang Nantex Chemical Industry Co started up its new 10,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) line in end July. Construction of the new line was completed in late 2008. “We had to delay the start-up due to the gloomy NBR market since last year when the plant completed construction,” said the source. The plant has yet to achieve full operating rates, he added. Zhenjiang Nantex has another NBR line with a 20,000 tonne/year capacity, which was running normally, the source said.
