China’s Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals has kept its new 300,000 tonne/year acetic acid line in Tengzhou city shut due to poor market conditions although trial runs at the plant had been completed last November. It is still hard to say when they will start commercial production at the new line because demand is still weak.
