Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is looking to move over 7m tonnes of granulated sulphur by rail each year from the Shah and Habshah oil and gas fields to Ruwais, the Union Railway chairman said on Monday. Hussain Al Nowais said Union Railway was in the advanced stages of discussion and coordination with Adnoc to explore transporting, via the railway system, over 7m tonnes of granulated sulphur from the Shah and Habshar oil and gas fields into Ruwais. He added that the transportation will contribute to the development of the oil, gas and petrochemical industries in the country. “This section of the railway [in the western region] will be fast tracked to meet Adnoc’s schedule and requirements,” Al Nowais said. No details on when the transportation will begin and how much the contract would be worth to Union Railway were disclosed.(ICIS) 阿布扎比国家石油公司(Adnoc)期望每年用铁路运输颗粒状硫磺700万吨。
