Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC), South Korea’s largest naphtha cracker operator, has raised the operating rate of its 550,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker at Yeocheon to nearly 100% after resolving earlier mechanical problems, a company official said on Friday. Output at the cracker had been cut back to around 80% of capacity on 7 August, the official said, without commenting on the nature of the problems. YNCC also runs two other crackers at the same site.
