China-based Jiangsu Hailun Chemical plans to invest yuan (CNY) 2.5bn ($365m) on the construction of a 600,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province. "We are waiting for the approval of the central government. There is a huge possibility that the we will start construction within this year," the source said in Mandarin. Once approved, the construction would be completed in around two years, the source said. The new plant’s output will be supplied mainly to local downstream polyester producer Jiangsu Sanfangxiang Group Co Ltd. 江苏海伦计划投资25亿人民币在江阴建造一部年产60万的PTA装置。目前该公司正在等待中央政府的同意，很有可能今年就会开工。一经同意，2年内完工。
