Today,BP Zhuhai unexpectedly shut its 500,000 tonne/year No 1 PTA line in southern Guangdong, China for maintenance. The line would be down for approximately five days. It was unclear what triggered the shutdown of the No 1 line. However,its 900,000 tonne/year No 2 PTA line at the same Zhuhai site was running normally.
