India's Reliance Industries restarted its 640,000 tonne/year PTA line at Hazira in Gujarat state on Thursday following a 10-day maintenance shutdown and will go exactly as per schedule. The plant, which was shut on 15 November for annual turnaround, is one of Reliance’s three lines located at the site. The two other production units each have a PTA nameplate capacity of 510,000 tonnes/year. Reliance also has smaller PTA units in other parts of the country. The company's total PTA output is 1.93m tonnes/year.
