Japan’s Mitsui to suspend MIBK production for two weeks

Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals plans to suspend methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) production at its 30,000 tonne/year swing plant at Iwakuni in the Yamaguchi prefecture for about two weeks from 25 December to produce other solvents--DIBK (diisobutyl ketone. The plant is also scheduled for an annual turnaround from 5 October to 13 November in 2010.
