Indonesia’s Styrindo Mono Indonesia (SMI) plans to shut its 250,000 tonne/year No 2 styrene monomer (SM) unit next week for repairs. The shutdown could last three weeks with production loss estimated at around 12,000 tonnes, he said. SMI is expected to be able to meet its contract obligations to customers but would have limited spot cargoes for August and September, the source said.
