Japan’s Asahi Kasei to shut SM unit in Oct for turnaround

Japan's Asahi Kasei Co plans to shut its 390,000 tonne/year No 3 SM unit at Mizushima for a scheduled 40-day turnaround next month.The maintenance would begin from 9 October. Its 320,000 tonne/year No 2 SM unit in the same location, which underwent a 30-day turnaround in February this year, will continue to operate normally during the shutdown of No 3 line. Its smallest 150,000 tonne/year No 1 unit was mothballed in 2007.
