Nihon Oxirane hikes February SM contracts by $50/t

Japanese styrene monomer (SM) producer Nihon Oxirane Co has increased its contract nomination by $50/tonne (€38/tonne) for February cargoes due to improved spot demand. The quoted price was $650/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia, LC 30 days against January’s $600/tonne CFR Asia. SM spot prices have risen to $635/tonne CFR China in the second half of January from $570-580/tonne CFR China in late December.
