Japan’s Sanyo Petrochemical, an affiliate of Asahi Kasei, plans to keep running its 470,000 tonne/year cracker in Mizushima at 85% of capacity until mid November and increase (ethylene) production to 100% after that due to an ongoing maintenance turnaround at its derivative SM unit in the same area. Asahi Kasei had taken its 390,000 tonne/year No 3 SM unit off line for a 40-day turnaround from 9 October.
