Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics restarted its 98,000 tonne/year MMA plant in Mailiao on 4 March. The plant had been shut on technical problems on 26 February but operating rates at the plant were now being ramped up, the source added. Formosa has been alternately operating and shutting the MMA plant in the past three months to control inventories amid generally poor regional demand.
