Sumitomo Chemical Singapore had restarted its No 3 MMA line on 25 March, after it was shut three months ago amid poor regional demand.The facility has a capacity of 90,000 tonnes/year and is the biggest MMA line among the three that the company operates in Singapore.The line is now operating well around 70%. MMA line No 1, with a capacity of 53,000 tonnes/year, was also running at 70%. The No 2 line, with a capacity 80,000 tonnes/year, was shut since April 2008 after suffering protracted technical problems following a routine maintenance shutdown last year.It might be restarted in mid-April but could not confirm this.
