Taiwanese producer Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) plans to bring forward the shutdown of its phenol-acetone units due to shortage of feedstock benzene, a company official said on Friday. The plant would be taken off line on 26 August for two to three weeks, the source said. The unscheduled shutdown due to problems in obtaining feedstock benzene from its upstream aromatics units was initially slated in early September, the source added. FCFC, the largest phenol-acetone producer in Taiwan, operates two lines in Mailiao with a combined capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 250,000 tonnes/year of acetone. (ICIS) 台湾FCFC决定提前停车其苯酚-丙酮装置。停车时间为8月26号,预计停车2-3周。
