Japan's Tosoh Corp will shut its caustic soda plant in Yokkaichi for a month-long scheduled turnaround starting in mid-March. The plant at Mie prefecture in western Japan consists of two lines with a combined annual capacity of 184,000 tonnes/year. Both lines will be shut during the turnaround. The company’s other 950,000 tonne/year caustic soda plant in Nanyo would continue to operate normally.
